Support IJM Run

I'm taking action to Fund Freedom!

Did you know: today, there are more people living in slavery than at any other time in history? But there's good news: we can be part of changing that. We can Race to End Slavery.

I'm raising money to end slavery—and I won't stop until I meet my goal.

I have an Overwhelming inspiration to support this organization.
I have never run a marathon and I have never been a "runner" but recently I learned about International Justice Mission through local WBGL Radio it inspired me to do something to support this incredible organization. When I learned about IJB and what they do to help those who are Entrapped by Slavery I felt compelled to do something to support their Mission of Rescuing those who cannot defend themselves. I wish I could run a Full marathon or even a Half but I must be realistic about not having enough time to train for that long of a run. Taking Baby Steps and a huge leap of faith to do something I have never done before to raise money for IJM!
I am now training to Run a 5K for International Justice Mission with WBGL Radio At the End Of April 2018. Please consider donating to support this run and the work of IJM. You can click on IJM Icon to learn more about the work they do.
Like this page, share it with others and please consider donating even if you cannot commit to running for this cause. Thank you and God Bless!

Want to help? Support me by learning more by clicking this Link donation!  The process is fast, easy and secure, and you can rest assured that your gift will help to bring people out of slavery and into restoration. When You click on donation link above and then click on IJM logo you can learn more about the organization.

Thanks for your help!

Wanted to Update Everyone on of my 5K RUN

Big Thank You to Everyone who supported me through words of encouragement, prayer or financially supporting International Justice Mission! You are all Super Heros to enslaved kids!

I was so excited about participating in my first 5k run of my life last Friday night in Champaign IL. Continually Prayed and trained for this Run for 2 months.
I am not a "runner". The only reason I decided to run was because I felt so compelled to raise money to support International Justice Mission to free kids that are enslaved. I am so thankful to everyone who prayed, encouraged me or donated money for the cause. Excited that God allowed me to raise over $500 for IJM through my favorite WBGL Christian Radio!
This Amazing spiritual journey of trusting God to allow me to safely train as I took baby steps towards my 5k goal. As time progressed I began running farther each week and finally was able to run more than 3 miles without stopping.. Thank you Jesus! As I trained, each run became a time of prayer and thanking God for His strength, His Goodness and provision to sustain me during each training session.
Weather on the day of 5k was perfect, all was going better than expected. I was pumped!!  Thankfully My wife and I Arrived safely at hotel in Champaign late Friday afternoon. Shortly after Carolina and I Arrived at University of Illinois and began to hustle to registration building before 7pm cutoff. Suddenly as my wife and I were shuffling across the street to race registration building when my wife did not see a large pothole in the street and rolled her ankle and fell straight down to the pavement. She hurt her wrists, skinned her knee and twisted her ankle. Despite being surrounded by thousands of people within moments of the incident a guy on golf cart came by saw my wife hobbling along as she held tightly to my arm as we still were determined to reach the registration center. The man on the golf cart asked if we needed a ride and drove my wife back to our car. It was like one of God's Angels was watching over us. I was still determined to register with the hopes of running the 5k I had been training for. After getting my Running tee shirt and Bibb I quickly returned to the car to check on my wife. Her ankle had doubled in size and she was in extreme pain. Despite her suffering she did not want me to miss out on this event I had been so excited about. But when I saw how much pain she was in I could not leave her... I would not run this 5k as I hoped.
But instead I ran around the university campus to find medical help and ice packs. Finally I found two medics on bicycles and they evaluated her injury and packed her ankle with ice.
We had been anticipating this day and we had hoped things were going to be different....
Pastor Dennis Papp's sermon yesterday spoke to me about how many times in life things  happened or did not go the way we planned.
"but we hoped for"...
I just wanted to get through this goal of running my first 5k. Even more so for such a worthy cause...But God had a different plan..maybe He was sparring us from something else?  But regardless of why this event turned out the way it did,  He was most certainly was teaching me something...
I feel that God was speaking to me that I did my part, followed my heart, raised funds for children in need but it never was about me having bragging rights of this accomplishment, earning a superhero red cape from IJM or possibly even being prideful of succeeding with my goals. God's Will, His plan is the only thing that matters. It's not about what we want, what we plan, what we get or What we hoped for...
A saying I remember reading was "We write our plans with a pencil but God has the eraser!! How true!!
Our Faith is about serving God in all things no matter what the outcome even without reward or recognition. God wants us to Glorify Him, worship and praise Him through it all. In every season despite what we want. His Will is far greater than ours and many times don't understand why things happen as they do. Trusting Him is more important that our best, most well thought out plans.
Still I fall short of honoring God in countless ways..  But He is always faithful and never leaves us. Praise God for His Goodness and Grace!  I am thankful to God for each new day He gives me to prayerfully surrender to His will and hopefully learn from my mistakes and shortcomings.
Thankfully Carolina's ankle probably is not broken just horribly swollen and tender, maybe sprained and she is recovering..
In Reference to 1 Peter 1:6-7
Lord, I’m so thankful that no matter where we are, we can serve You. Help me to reflect Your image in my current situation, even if it’s not where I hoped I would be.
Prayerfully I will see you this Thursday morning for Men's group.
Trusting in His Care.
